More info:

Walking a labyrinth is a spiritual practice which links prayer, self-awareness, and the body in one movement. Unlike a maze, the labyrinth has a single path leading to the center and then back out. By walking this path the physical journey matches an inward journey ever deeper into ourselves and into the presence of God. Through the ages labyrinths have been sites of healing, gaining clarity and an exploration of physical prayer.

The labyrinth is an ancient symbol that represents wholeness, and has been used in many cultures as a tool for meditation, prayer, and healing. It combines the imagery of a circle and a spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. You cannot get lost walking this path. Just follow the path to the center and the same path back out. The labyrinth walk symbolizes a transformative journey to your own center and back out into the world.
